Monlam Grand Dictionary (“we”, “us”, “the App”) provides a Tibetan / Tibetan–English / English–Tibetan dictionary for learners and scholars. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect (if any), how we use it, and your rights.
1. Summary — the short version
We do not collect personally identifiable information. The app works offline. We do not transmit your dictionary lookups, favorites, or history to our servers by default.
2. What data the app stores locally
The app stores the following on your device only:
- Downloaded dictionary databases (required for searching)
- Search history and favorites (if you enable them)
- Local configuration and UI preferences
All of the above remain on the device unless you export them or the app syncs them to a service you explicitly configure (none by default).
3. Network & server communication
By default the app does not send dictionary lookups or history to any server. Optional features such as checking for updates or downloading language packs will contact our servers. When contacting our servers we only download files and metadata; we do not send personal identifiers.
4. Third-party services & analytics
If we integrate third-party analytics or crash reporting (e.g., Sentry, Firebase) we will disclose it here and in the app settings. Any analytics used will be limited to anonymized diagnostic data to improve stability, and you can opt out where applicable.
5. Ads
We currently do not show ads. If we later add ads, we will update this policy and disclose the ad SDKs used.
6. Children
The app is not targeted at children under 13. If any content specifically targets children, we will comply with COPPA and related rules.
7. Data retention & deletion
You can clear history and favorites from the app UI. To fully remove data, uninstall the app or delete the app storage via your device settings.
